SEN - Supporting Children & Young People

Gained early experience supporting children and young people through work at Fir Ends Primary School and independent engagement with families. Within the school environment, assisted with classroom activities and day-to-day learning, developing communication skills and an understanding of working with children in structured settings.

Further experience included working closely with families of autistic young people to better understand individual needs, routines, and challenges. This informed a more considered and adaptable approach to supporting neurodivergent individuals.

Alongside this, developed a Design & Technology project focused on creating a practical solution to support everyday family life, combining research, empathy, and problem-solving. These experiences strengthened communication, awareness, and the ability to contribute to inclusive and supportive environments.
